BURLINGTON, VT. (July 16, 2024) — The University of Vermont Health Network hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its UVM Medical Center in Burlington, Vermont on Tuesday, July 16. The new retail location, Store #645, originally opened July 9, and has seen a steady sream of medical staff, patients and visitors flowing through its doors.
Lori’s District Manager, Kari Perez said, “We’re thrilled to be partnering with UVM Health! There are amazing people at this campus, and we look forward serving the Medical Center community by bringing our vision to life daily of being a trusted place for joy and support when people need it most.”
Director of Patient and Family Experience, Louise T. Barrow said, “It’s always rewarding to see a project come to life after so much hard work and planning. It is satisfying to see the gift shop blend in so seamlessly, as if it was always meant to be there.”
Ms. Barrow went on to say, “The choice in Lori’s Gifts as our gift shop vendor feels right for our staff and community. Lori’s presence is creating a sense of community, and everyone’s day is a bit brighter. It has been really fun to hear the buzz and excitement around the return of the gift shop and seeing how happy everyone is with the variety of items they have to offer.
The University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington is the state’s only Level 1 Trauma Center. The facility was recognized as the No. 1 hospital in Vermont, and was also recognized as high performing in the following procedures and conditions: heart bypass surgery, heart failure, colon cancer surgery, COPD, heart attack, hip replacement, leukemia lymphoma & myeloma, pneumonia and prostate cancer surgery. UVM Medical Center was also recognized for its urology program.
