LOUISVILLE, KY. (July 20, 2024) — The University of Louisville Health network’s Mary & Elizabeth Hospital is celebrating its 150th Anniversary this year. A lineup of activities have been planned at the South Louisville location to mark the occasion.
During the festivities, the hospital hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, July 20 for Lori’s newest retail location, Store #661. Lori’s team members will be able to better serve the South Louisville community, bringing the company’s vision to life of being a trusted place for joy and support when people need it most.
The 150-year history of the Mary & Elizabeth campus began with the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, who founded the hospital in 1874 after the Civil War. Today, the facility is a 298-bed, full-service hospital that offers a full range of vascular, orthopedic, cardiac, neurological, surgical, rehabilitative and 24/7 emergency services and is the region’s only hospital west of I-65.
Lori’s District Manager, Tim Murphy said, “It is very exciting to open the U of L Mary & Elizabeth location. The entire hospital administration, staff, and visitors are extremely thrilled with the assortment and service from the store team. As the store was being merchandised, they could not wait until we opened.”
